High-end gift box production process

The production process of gift boxes is much more complicated than origami boxes. The post-processing of origami boxes generally consists of printing ➝ surface decoration (hot stamping and silver foil, lamination, local UV, embossing, etc.) ➝ die cutting ➝ box gluing ➝ Inspection ➝ Packing completed.

Judging from the processes of the two products, the manufacturing process of gift boxes is complex and cumbersome, and the process standards are much higher than that of origami boxes.

Most of the high-end gift boxes that are common in our daily life are made of paper, and the paper surface is also the most suitable for more technological treatments.

Common defects or quality control points

Loose edges: After the paper is pasted, the four edges of the box are not tightly adhered, and there is a hanging phenomenon between the paper and the gray board.

Wrinkles: Irregular, dead folds of varying lengths are formed on the surface of the paper after pasting.

Broken corners: After the paper is pasted, the paper will be damaged and exposed at the four corners of the box.

Exposed gray (bottom exposed): Due to the inaccurate accuracy of the knife plate production, or the positioning deviation during the pasting operation, the lamination of the pasting paper is misaligned after being folded, resulting in the exposure of the gray board.

Blistering: Locally raised, irregular bubbles of different sizes on the surface of the box.

Glue stains: Traces of glue remaining on the surface.

Protrusions (acne): There are granular substances remaining on the lower layer of the packaging material, which partially props up the surface and destroys the smoothness of the surface of the box.

High and low angles: After the gray board is half-pierced, die-cut or grooved, the four sides are folded and formed, causing the height of the two adjacent sides to be inconsistent.

Water ripples: After the box body is pasted, in order to make the corners adhere more tightly, it is necessary to use a scraper to scrape the four sides of the box body. Due to irregular force, the entire edge will appear long and short. The uneven strips or vesicles look like water ripples.
